An Entertaining Day At The Entertainment Centre
Charity Concert For The Unfortunates
Stars got together yesteday afternoon at Jurong East Entertainment Centre to have a 6 hour long concert to raise funds for PUSTWOOPSY, a charity organisation created by Reality TV couple JXHK that cares for the unfortunate souls who can only afford to watch one movie a year. With the release of approximately 1246 thousand movies this year, the organisation is trying to raise more funds to create more free movie passes and free flow of popcorns to the benefits of the organisation.
The concert was a major sellout with promising performances from not only JXHK, but an all studded cast of their friends - heiress and daughter of notorious triad boss, Huat Myer, accompanied by her newly engaged fiance, Rose. Rose, who had been controversially unemployed ever since his prom queen cum valedictorian days, has finally entered the spotlight with his recent sign on with Singapore's acclaimed one and only one man rugby team, The Muscleman. Besides the triad love birds and the Reality TV couple, slated to appear at the concert was also ex competitive swimmer Cheryl, and her super star husband Maximus Zhang. However due to his ongoing participation in Model Bootcamp season 3, Cheryl was unwilling to perform alone with her signature Low Manly Voice. After much persuasion from JX, the retired swimmer decided to join the rest in a bid for charity.
The initial plan was to have a "Skating with Celebrities" special, but due to unforeseen circumstances (the skating rink melted due to intense global warming [save the world people!]), they then decided to perform live at a charity gig.
To make sure their voices were in optimum conditions, the organisers of the show had cups of honey lemon specially flown in from harvester Pooh Bear's kitchen Hundred Acres Wood. The celebrities then performed a medley of songs ranging from english, chinese to canto pop. Rose showed off his multilingual tongue when he performed a native hindu folk song, "Calcutta (I am a taxi driver man)" and a duet with his fiancee in cantonese, "Wu Ding" (commonly known as the antenna song). The crowd reached a high when HK, alongside with JX and Cheryl, performed a sexually confused rendition of the 1999 classic hit, "Barbie Girl".
The entire event was a huge success, raising an estimated S$4561million for the PUSTWOOPSY. The public is able to carry on showing their love and support for the association by purchasing the album which consists of all the songs performed that day.
