Armageddon

Armageddon - the end of the world. Mankind has dreaded the word that ends it all from the very beginning. Renowned director Michael Bay set aside an impressively high budget to paint a picture of the world's greatest fear in his latest summer blockbuster, "Armageddon". Starring veteran actor Bruce Willis, the film also see new faces JXHK on this major movie production, set to open in theatres worldwide next week.

The storyline is simple: a huge meteorite is crashing towards the earth. The NASA is being enforced with the task of saving mankind from this deathly catastrophe, but can we really depend on those astronauts at this crucial time? Certainly not, when the NASA team was led by arrogant Derek Zoolander (HK), who spends training and lecture at the NASA school sneaking peeks at himself on his vanity compact mirror, perfecting his cassanova pout. The world is doomed.

But wait! All is not lost! Enters Old Man Jones (Bruce Willis), as well as his beautiful but conservative daugter (JX), who has never let her hair out of her tightly-pulled back bun since she was 3 years old. The three will eventually cross paths which each other; and each will affect the others' lives in ways they would never imagine.

Both a touching and adrenaline-pumping film, "Armageddon" is most certainly a must-watch which wouldn't disappoint.

There's an extra 3-minutes footage at the end of the film, of which, an intergalatic battle with a good-gone-bad popular cereal icon (hint: captain honeystars) would hint of a sequel to the current film. So don't be the anxious one rushing off to the toilet at the end of the film. Don't say you haven't been warned.

Budding Potatoh Sees The Light

Release of “Life as a Budding Potatoh” DVD sets

Singapore – After Lucy Aslan’s recent interview with Oscar winner A-lister Salty, fans of the celebrity has started a petition gathering 456148947 signatures worldwide to revive her TV debut in 1999, “Life as a Budding Potatoh”.

However, the producers of the show maintained their stand that it is impossible for the show to carry on but fans can look forward to the worldwide release of the special DVD uncut edition of both seasons including never seen before footages, this February.

The show, which aired in 1999, starring Salty and many other more familiar faces like Reality TV duo JXHK and her on screen lover JF Lye, is a soap opera base loosely on Salty’s own life experiences back during her schooldays. Season one started off promisingly and audiences felt her heartbreaks and the agonizing pain of going through teenage hood. But the ratings hit rock bottom shortly after the premier of season two. Thus the show was scraped and with the recent revival of it in DVD edition, we get to see the Potatoh budding fully and emerging from dark soil to see the light.

DVD hits stores in February.
